"Resilience" showcases the pride and strength of Haitians. She is a representation of all the struggle and obstacles our ancestors overcame. After becoming the first free Black nation in the western hemisphere in 1804 Haiti inspired several other slave rebellions around the world. This piece is in honor of Haitian Heritage Month, Haitian Flag Day, and Haitian Independence Day.
